Please join us today in supporting "Take pains. Be perfect", a documentary feature film about Dr. James Ayres, Shakespeare at Winedale and Camp Shakespeare.
Contributions will be used for the many production and post-production expenses required to make an independent film. We will also designate a portion of our budget to curate and preserve the Shakespeare at Winedale archive, including ephemera, photographs, moving images, and correspondence.
In Midsummer Night’s Dream, the irrepressible Nick Bottom exhorts his fellows to “rehearse most obscenely and courageously. Take pains. Be perfect. Adieu.” Taking this to heart, Doc Ayres has taught Shakespeare through performance for nearly 50 years, enriching the lives of generations of students. Your support will help preserve the history and secure the future of these important arts-in-education programs.
